Finding Your VIN

To find your Vehicle Identification Number (VIN), follow these steps:

  1. Driver’s Side Dashboard:

    • Stand outside the driver’s side of the vehicle.
    • Look at the corner of the dashboard, near the windshield.
    • The VIN is often visible through the windshield on a small metal plate or sticker.
  2. Driver’s Side Door Frame:

    • Open the driver’s side door.
    • Look along the door frame, where the door latches to the body of the car.
    • Check the side of the door frame or the door’s edge for a label with the VIN printed on it.
  3. Vehicle Registration and Insurance Documents:

    • If you’re unable to locate the VIN on the car itself, you can always find it on your vehicle registration or insurance documents.
    • The VIN should be listed as a 17-character code (letters and numbers) on these papers.
  4. Under the Hood:

    • In some cases, the VIN may also be found under the hood, on the engine bay’s frame or near the front of the vehicle.
